Troubleshooting Your CES Ultra Device

Today we’re going to discuss troubleshooting your CES Ultra. The most common thing that people run into is they suddenly are not feeling the electrical impulse coming from the device. The first thing to check is to be certain that the plug is plugged thoroughly all the way into the top of the unit. There is a ridge on the plug. You need to be certain that the narrower part of that plug is seated all the way into the device. The plugs are super tight so sometimes it can feel like it’s plugged in when it’s not quite plugged in all the way.

Next would be a low battery possibility. When you turn your machine on you’ll get a light on the top of the unit. If this light begins flashing in the first minute or two after you’ve turned it on, that’s a low battery signal. The only other reason that light would flash would be at the end of your session. If it’s flashing early that’s letting you know you’ve got a low battery scenario happening.

Next would be the possibility of a short and the actual lead wire. Generally speaking the most common place for that to occur would be right here at the top of the hard plastic where the wire comes out. If you inspect that for cracks or maybe a little bit of copper wire will be showing through, that would let you know that you need a new wire. It’s also possible there would be a short somewhere through the rest of the wire but that’s not as common as possibly right here. If you go easy on this when you’re using it, it’ll be less likely to fray at the top there.

The other possibility is that the ear clip has become loose on the prong that you insert into the back of the ear clip when you’re putting them on. You should feel resistance, fair amount of resistance when you plug this prong into the back side of the ear clip. If it’s sliding in and out pretty easily or if your wire is falling off the ear clip, you need to adjust the ear clip. This is a deliberate construction for the ear clips for purposes of cleaning. The way you adjust it is on the inside of the ear clip right next to the rubber pad on the inside of the ear clip here. It looks like a hollow rectangular space in the plastic. If you simply take a screwdriver or the prong on the end of the wire and slide it into that rectangular space and give it a good push, it will force that rubber insert into where it’s supposed to be to allow solid contact. Then when you go back and plug the prong on the back side of the ear clip, it should feel nice and tight. For cleaning purposes, if you’re using some sort of gel or something, you can just take your fingernail and pull the rubber insert right out of the ear clip, clean it and put it back in. When you put it back in, you’ll want to follow that rectangular section of the rubber with the screwdriver on the inside there and just push up inside that hollow plastic area or the hollow area in the plastic and it’ll tighten right up. Okay, thank you.
